Test Engineer – Electrical Test & Serialization

About the role

The Test Engineer will support Samtec's High Data Rate (HDR) Cable Assembly Work Center, handling all electrical testing processes for cable assemblies. The role is fully onsite, working Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Design test tooling assemblies and fixtures for first‑time build electrical testing of HDR cable products.
• Create, qualify, and document test programs and processes for electrical testing.
• Collaborate with SIG ATG to assemble, debug, and qualify new test systems.
• Support the production floor by troubleshooting low‑ and high‑speed test systems and performing failure analysis.
• Maintain product serialization, part‑number creation, and configuration in Samtec’s tracking software.
• Work with control, process, and manufacturing engineers on transfer and sustaining improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Minimum five years of experience in PCB board design and electrical testing.
• Ability to sit or stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

Required skills

• Python and C++ scripting for serialization.
• PCB design and layout expertise.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD for engineering design.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes.
• Experience with electrical test methods such as LSET, HSET, and signal‑integrity testing.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and troubleshoot to component level.
