Payroll Manager – Costa Rica

About the role

Genpact is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead end‑to‑end payroll operations for its Costa Rica entity. You will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while supporting employees and coordinating with external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full payroll cycle (on‑cycle and off‑cycle), including data collection, calculations, validations, approvals, and payouts.
• Maintain employee payroll records, capturing status changes, overtime, vacations, deductions, and adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll before transmission and conduct post‑payroll reconciliations to guarantee error‑free reporting.
• Process overtime and deductions, validate HR/operations interfaces with the payroll system/provider, and coordinate off‑boarding updates.
• Oversee employee benefits and compensation processes, ensuring accurate enrollments, database maintenance, and analytical reporting.
• Monitor timesheet submissions, validate accuracy and compliance, follow up on missing entries, and generate reports for management.
• Provide training and support on timesheet systems and ensure adherence to labor laws and internal policies.
• Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives.
• Prepare and submit mandatory statutory reports to CCSS, INS, Tributación, INA, FCL, and Banco Popular.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing payroll operations, preferably in Costa Rica.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican labor and tax regulations.
• Ability to work with payroll vendors and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
