NPI Buyer III – New Product Introduction

About the role

The NPI Buyer III is a fully qualified, experienced professional responsible for managing procurement activities that support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commodity Management, Planning, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure material readiness, cost competitiveness, and successful product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for NPI projects from development through product launch.
• Coordinate supplier engagement, quotations, lead times, and material readiness activities.
• Partner with Engineering and cross‑functional teams to identify and implement supply chain solutions for new products.
• Analyze material requirements and execute purchase orders to support project schedules.
• Manage component transitions, engineering changes, and supplier readiness activities.
• Resolve supply, quality, delivery, and cost issues impacting program milestones.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when required.
• Support cost reduction, risk mitigation, and business continuity initiatives.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data, documentation, and system transactions.
• Provide procurement expertise and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or NPI procurement roles.
• Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment and supporting new product introductions.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
