Medical Science Liaison – Hematology (San José, Costa Rica)

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Hematology Medical Science Liaison to be based in San José, Costa Rica. The MSL will act as a scientific bridge between the company’s innovative hematology portfolio and healthcare professionals, fostering informed decision‑making and supporting the adoption of new therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with community and academic healthcare professionals, focusing on scientific exchange that influences medical practice.
• Communicate the clinical value of hematology products, including efficacy, safety, adherence and quality‑of‑life data, to gain stakeholder endorsement.
• Support pre‑launch activities by preparing the medical community, facilitating investigator‑initiated studies and managing pre‑approval access programs.
• Respond to scientific inquiries from physicians, investigators and health‑system decision makers.
• Identify and relay medical insights to internal teams to shape strategy and inform pipeline development.
• Organize and deliver medical field educational events related to pipeline and approved products.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a life‑science discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent) with strong knowledge of hematology.
• Proven experience engaging with healthcare professionals and delivering scientific information.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear messages.
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based role and travel as required.
