Mechanical Engineer – Remote Contract (up to $70/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop high‑quality, single‑choice assessment items for AI training applications. This remote contract role involves translating advanced mechanical engineering concepts into clear, accessible questions and explanations.

Key responsibilities

• Create accurate single‑choice questions rooted in mechanical engineering topics.
• Translate complex knowledge in solid & structural mechanics, dynamics & vibration & control, or thermal‑fluids into understandable assessment content.
• Ensure technical rigor, relevance, and real‑world applicability of all materials.
• Document rationales and explanations for answer choices to support AI training datasets.
• Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, meet milestones, and deliver content on schedule.
• Perform quality checks and revise materials based on feedback.

Required profile

• PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in solid & structural mechanics, dynamics & vibration & control, or thermal‑fluids.
• Proven ability to convert complex engineering principles into clear written content.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in educational content creation, assessment design, or technical writing is highly desirable.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
