About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to provide hands‑on engineering support on the shop floor, ensuring continuous production flow and rapid resolution of technical issues that affect throughput, quality, scrap, or safety. The role combines troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and project leadership in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide hands‑on engineering support to maintain continuous production flow and quickly resolve technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize braiding machines, thermal/curing ovens, micro‑molding equipment, and associated tools and fixtures.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and process diagnostics to address downtime and implement preventive solutions.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and equipment settings.
  • Lead CAPEX and OPEX projects, including equipment upgrades and process improvements.
  • Track, analyze, and improve KPIs and OKRs related to productivity, equipment performance, quality, and cost.
  • Partner with Quality and Validation teams for equipment qualifications, process validations, and controlled changes.
  • Conduct structured problem‑solving activities (RCA, 5‑Whys, fishbone) and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new equipment installations, configuration, validation, and integration into production.
  • Train operators and technicians on new or updated equipment, procedures, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality system requirements, and good manufacturing practices.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in medical device or other regulated industries.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

  • Hands‑on experience with braiding machines (mechanical timing, tension control, mandrel alignment).
  • Troubleshooting and optimization of industrial curing ovens (temperature uniformity, heating profiles, control systems).
  • Experience with precision or micro‑molding equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, calipers, micrometers, tension gauges, thermal probes.
  • Familiarity with PLC‑controlled systems, I/O troubleshooting, sensors, actuators, and motion components.
  • Equipment parameter optimization and preventive maintenance to improve OEE.
  • Process engineering methodologies: DOE, capability studies, cycle‑time optimization, waste reduction.
  • Equipment validation expertise (IQ/OQ/PQ) and documentation under regulated standards.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating downtime, scrap, and process variability trends.
