Maintenance Engineer IV – Vascular Division

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer IV will work in Abbott's Alajuela, Coyol site within the Vascular division, ensuring that critical equipment operates reliably and complies with corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate, divisional and site policies and procedures.
• Analyze maintenance and equipment data to identify critical assets.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on critical equipment and propose corrective actions.
• Implement equipment and process improvements according to project plans (time, cost, resources).
• Coordinate with affected areas and support audit activities related to equipment and maintenance.
• Manage budget and performance metrics for the maintenance department.
• Provide technical support, training and certification for maintenance engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Review, update and create maintenance procedures, EMPs, EQPs and related documentation.
• Support obsolete equipment replacement, new technology validation and spare‑parts management.
• Generate reports on maintenance data, metrics and support NPI, ME, QE, EHS and Operations projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Electronics or Electromechanical Engineering.
