Legal Case Manager – Debt Collection

About the role

Cedar Financial is seeking a proactive Legal Case Manager to oversee debt collection files, coordinate with partner attorneys, and ensure efficient case liquidation. The role is based onsite in San Jose, Costa Rica, and supports the company’s cross‑border ARM services.

Key responsibilities

• Review debt collection files for legal eligibility and place eligible files with appropriate partner attorneys.
• Maintain regular communication with attorney offices, monitor case progress, and resolve delays.
• Collaborate with legal CSRs, compliance, CSM, and accounting teams to support case updates and efficient file liquidation.
• Document communications, prepare regular status reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in legal case management, debt collection, or similar roles.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of compliance and legal processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal case management software.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
