Contracts Negotiator

About the role

The Global Legal Services team supports a wide variety of transactional and in‑depth work across Workday’s customer base. Workday’s legal department is seeking a high‑performing Contracts Negotiator to manage a large volume of contract requests and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal contact and negotiator for contract generation, review, and final distribution.
• Manage workflow, document generation, and routing for signatures using electronic signature tools.
• Maintain and improve the contracts management system and enforce contract policies.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, providing guidance on edits, non‑standard terms, and policy questions.
• Review and negotiate contract modifications with internal partners and third parties.
• Draft and revise contract language to address emerging situations.
• Support in‑house legal staff with research, correspondence, and record‑keeping.
• Execute assigned projects that support business and departmental needs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience managing contracts (drafting and negotiation) in a corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; experience in a law firm or legal department required.
• Licensed attorney desired but not required.
• Strong collaborative spirit with outstanding influence and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑output team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace applications.
• Experience with a contract management system (e.g., Apttus).
• Experience with electronic signature software (e.g., EchoSign, DocuSign, Salesforce).
