Lead React Native Engineer

About the role

First Factory is seeking a Lead React Native Engineer to drive the creation of high‑impact mobile applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and cross‑functional teams to turn ambiguous ideas into robust, scalable solutions using the latest AI‑assisted development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with PMs and designers to explore technical constraints, challenge assumptions, and co‑create solutions before development starts.
• Serve as the engineering point of contact for cross‑functional requests, aligning product vision with technical execution.
• Break down complex, ambiguous features into clear, actionable technical tasks for the team.
• Participate in real‑time problem‑solving sessions, adapting technical approaches to project constraints.
• Build and maintain high‑performance mobile features with Expo, Tamagui, React Hook Form, and Reanimated.
• Leverage AI tools such as Cursor and Claude to accelerate coding workflows.
• Write maintainable code, conduct peer reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and proactively surface technical risks.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, story estimation, and Scrum meetings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining mobile or full‑stack applications.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguous technical landscapes and define paths forward collaboratively.
• Strong consultative mindset, comfortable working in real‑time with product and design partners.
• Deep expertise in React Native and the Expo ecosystem.
• Experience translating designs into pixel‑perfect, responsive interfaces using Tamagui and Reanimated.
• Excellent communication skills for articulating technical trade‑offs in a distributed team.
