Global IT Enterprise Architect Senior Manager – Data

About the role

Boston Consulting Group is looking for a hands-on Solution Architect Senior Manager to join its Enterprise Architecture team, which covers the architecture, design and delivery of technical solutions, mainly the implementation of data platforms, products and data integration and ingestion. The role oversees several workstreams so that solutions stay consistent and synergistic across the enterprise, and drives digital transformation and the use of technology to deliver data and AI capabilities. It reports to the BCG IT Senior Director for Enterprise Architecture and works closely with data teams, functional teams, data product portfolios, BI&A, master data management, data engineers and data governance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee domain architects and engineering leads across other portfolios and workstreams, and facilitate cross-enterprise coordination of data architecture and integration needs.
• Work with multi-disciplinary architects and engineers to advance the Tech@BCG strategy, develop technology roadmaps and technical standards.
• Act as an interface with technical partners, offering value and coordinating joint initiatives.
• Deliver technical solutions from prototype to production, including evaluating emerging GenAI and agent technologies for viability and security.
• Build data capabilities, define standards for agentic development, orchestration, deployment and monitoring, and create architecture decision records.
• Organize architecture technical reviews, seek peer input, and negotiate alignment in a matrixed organization.

Required profile

• 2+ years of architecture or engineering experience, ideally a mix of engineering and solution architecture with several years of building and operating highly performant data solutions.
• Deep knowledge of structured and unstructured data, and the ability to turn complex business problems into pragmatic, documented solution architectures.
• Hands-on approach, strong collaboration and influence skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Expected to work from a BCG office or in person with clients about 50% of the time, depending on business needs.

• Data engineering (Python preferred), API and microservice design (REST, GraphQL), event-driven architecture (Kafka, AWS EventBridge)
• Solution engineering on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and security
• Ingestion pipelines (Fivetran, AWS Glue, Airbyte, DBT, Airflow)
• GenAI and agent patterns, LLMs, RAG, vector/graph databases, MCP servers and orchestration frameworks
