Global IT Configuration Engineer Manager (M365 & Google Workspace)

About the role

Boston Consulting Group's Productivity & Collaboration Platforms team is looking for a Global IT Configuration Engineer Manager to manage and improve collaboration services across Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. The role ensures reliable, secure and scalable user experiences and covers provisioning, policy enforcement, automation and migration. It works closely with other platform subject matter experts, InfoSec and Service Management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day administration of Google Workspace (Chrome, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, Gemini) and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Handle user provisioning, deactivation, license assignment and group management
• Enforce secure, compliant configurations with access controls, sharing restrictions and policy updates
• Develop or improve automation for routine tasks and reporting using tools such as PowerShell or Apps Script
• Support configuration work such as OU restructuring, retention settings and rollout readiness
• Monitor service performance, coordinate escalations with identity and security teams and support incident root cause analysis
• Document procedures, knowledge base articles and support records
• Take part in internal QA and testing of new features or releases

Required profile

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise collaboration platforms, including both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
• Proficiency with user lifecycle management, access controls and service configurations in Google Admin Console and Microsoft 365 Admin Center
• Experience troubleshooting complex platform issues and coordinating with identity, security or networking teams
• Proven track record of managing support queues, documenting resolutions and improving internal processes
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience
• Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 certifications are preferred but not required

Required skills

• Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration
• PowerShell and Google Apps Script exposure is a plus
• Strong communication and documentation skills

The role is generally expected to be based at a BCG office or in person with clients about 50% of the time, depending on business needs and local practice.
