Full-Stack Engineer (Kotlin, TypeScript, React) – 3‑Month Remote Contract

About the role

Software Mind is looking for a Full‑Stack Engineer to support the maintenance of an existing client application for a three‑month, full‑time remote engagement. You will split your time between backend work in Kotlin/Gradle and frontend work in TypeScript/React, focusing on upgrading dependencies, expanding unit‑test coverage, and fixing compatibility issues.

Key responsibilities

• Update and upgrade outdated libraries, dependencies, and frameworks to keep the application stable and secure.
• Write and expand unit tests for both backend and frontend components.
• Validate application functionality after upgrades through thorough testing.
• Identify and resolve issues introduced by dependency or framework changes.
• Collaborate with the client’s engineering team to align on priorities and progress.

Required profile

• 8+ years of full‑stack development experience.
• Strong English communication skills (minimum B2).
• Proven backend experience with Kotlin and Gradle.
• Proven frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
• Experience performing dependency upgrades and framework migrations.
• Solid understanding of unit testing and test maintenance.
• Experience working with legacy codebases and ramping up quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Availability to commit full‑time for a three‑month engagement.
