Full-Stack Engineer – Kotlin & React

About the role

Software Mind is looking for two Full‑Stack Engineers to maintain and extend a legacy application for a client that was originally slated for decommission but now requires continued operation. The position involves equal focus on backend (Kotlin, Gradle) and frontend (TypeScript, React) work, with a slight emphasis on backend code.

Key responsibilities

• Update and upgrade outdated libraries, dependencies, and frameworks to keep the application stable and secure.
• Add and expand unit‑test coverage across the codebase.
• Thoroughly test the system after each upgrade to validate stability and functionality.
• Identify and resolve issues introduced by dependency or framework changes.
• Collaborate with the client’s engineering team to align on priorities and progress.

Required profile

• Minimum B2 English proficiency (90% written and oral).
• 4+ years of full‑stack development experience.
• Strong backend experience with Kotlin and Gradle.
• Strong frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
• Proven experience with library/dependency upgrades and framework migrations.
• Solid understanding of unit‑testing principles and ability to write and maintain tests.
• Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly on an existing codebase.
