FP&A Manager – Science Biopharma Oncology (GFS Americas)

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to lead a team of analysts within its Global Financial Services (GFS) Center in San José, Costa Rica. The role focuses on monthly financial analysis, planning cycles, and continuous improvement of finance processes for the Science Biopharma Oncology business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 7+ Business Analysts delivering high‑quality financial analysis and reporting.
• Own the monthly financial close, variance analysis, and reporting to market stakeholders.
• Manage the annual and quarterly planning cycles, ensuring accurate forecasts and timely updates.
• Coordinate data from multiple sources, generate deep analytical insights, and support business decision‑making.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, delivering value‑added insights and ensuring service quality.
• Identify and implement process improvements, risk mitigation, and best‑practice standards across GFS.
• Act as subject‑matter expert and escalation point for both market stakeholders and the analyst team.
• Contribute to special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a finance or FP&A team of at least 5‑7 analysts.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
• Experience in a biopharma or pharmaceutical finance environment is preferred.
