Fire Application Engineer II

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Application Engineer II to support sales and engineering teams on pre‑sales and post‑sales projects. The role involves technical activities such as takeoffs, drawings, bill of materials, and design for fire alarm and security systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support Request for Proposals with takeoffs, bill of material creation, and pricing.
• Create pre‑design, shop, submittal, and as‑built drawings based on client standards after site surveys.
• Produce post‑sales design drawings and engineering packages.
• Provide technical support to internal and external engineering teams on medium to complex projects.
• Assist low and medium complexity projects with guidance from functional project teams.
• Participate in internal project review processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in fire alarm, security, CCTV or construction design.
• Intermediate knowledge of fire alarm and security systems (access control, video, intrusion, building automation).
• Proficiency in Bluebeam or AutoCAD for technical drawing and markup.
• Effective professional communication skills in English (B2 level or higher).
• Willingness to learn fire alarm system design codes and equipment.
