About the role
Join Lonza's Employee Relations team in San Jose, Costa Rica, and play a key role in fostering a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace across U.S. operations. You will manage employee relations matters, partner with cross‑functional stakeholders, and shape a positive employee experience.
Key responsibilities
- Manage employee relations cases from intake through resolution, ensuring timely, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
- Conduct and support workplace investigations, including fact‑finding, interviews, evidence review, and documentation of findings.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, managers, Legal, and Ethics & Compliance to assess risk, resolve issues, and align on appropriate outcomes.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on processes, policies, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit‑ready case documentation while adhering to governance standards.
- Identify trends and risks through case analysis and contribute insights for proactive people strategies.
- Support operational excellence by contributing to process improvements, reporting initiatives, and adoption of ER technologies and AI‑enabled tools.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience in Employee Relations, HR investigations, or a related field supporting U.S.-based employee populations.
- Hands‑on experience managing employee relations cases and investigations from intake through resolution.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations, including EEO, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and retaliation matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or a related field.
Required skills
- Experience with HR case management systems such as Workday or ServiceNow.
