EHS Engineer II – Occupational Health & Safety

About the role

CooperSurgical is seeking an experienced EHS Engineer II to lead and enhance environmental, health, and safety initiatives across its facilities. You will promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑paced medical device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS strategies, programs, and corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct EHS inspections, analyze findings, and create training programs to eliminate risks.
• Lead emergency response teams, manage waste and recycling programs, and oversee work‑permit authorizations.
• Perform root‑cause investigations of incidents, recommend preventive measures, and manage corrective‑action documentation.
• Generate, validate, and update EHS procedures, SOPs, and ensure contractor compliance.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics, drive improvements, and support ergonomics and stretching initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of EHS experience in the medical device industry.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross‑functional projects.
