Calibration Technician II

About the role

Under the supervision of a Facilities Engineer/Supervisor, the Calibration Technician II performs corrective and preventive maintenance, equipment calibrations and technical support for Abbott's Electrophysiology manufacturing sites. The role involves traveling to remote sites, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring calibration data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi‑discipline equipment calibrations and verify documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy.
• Research equipment specifications, complete assigned projects and support new product introductions.
• Identify safety issues, write calibration procedures and manage change orders.
• Troubleshoot repair situations, order tools and parts, and conduct normal repairs and maintenance.
• Support root‑cause analysis for out‑of‑tolerance equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Provide formal training to equipment users, new hires and other metrology technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma plus a technical degree in electricity, mechanics, chemistry, electronics, industrial engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
• Intermediate command of English.

Required skills

• Equipment calibration and use of calibration database systems (history tracking, recall, overdue reports).
• Troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of measurement equipment.
• Technical documentation creation using word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Training and on‑the‑job instruction for new hires and equipment users.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards (preferred).
