Distribution Requirements Planner – Supply Chain

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Distribution Requirements Planner to manage and optimise inventory distribution across its global supply chain network. The role ensures product availability while minimising costs, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain distribution requirements plans to balance supply and demand across regional and global networks.
• Monitor inventory levels at distribution centres, proactively addressing potential stock‑outs or excess.
• Analyse demand forecasts, production plans and transportation constraints to generate efficient replenishment strategies.
• Use advanced planning systems (SAP ECC, APO, S/4HANA, Blue Yonder) and ERP tools to generate and optimise distribution plans.
• Track KPIs such as backorder, product availability, OTIF, forecast accuracy, freight, inventory turns and obsolescence.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of supply‑demand imbalances and recommend corrective actions.
• Drive process improvements, automation and adoption of best practices in distribution planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain planning, preferably distribution requirements planning.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Preferred certifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP; Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher.

Required skills

• SAP ECC, SAP APO, SAP S/4HANA.
• Blue Yonder advanced planning system.
• Microsoft Power BI and Snowflake for data analysis and visualisation.
• Advanced Excel for modelling and reporting.
