DevOps Automation Engineer

About the role

DXC is seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer to design, implement and optimise monitoring and automation solutions on AWS. The role works closely with development, operations and security teams to ensure platform availability, reliability, scalability and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable monitoring and automation solutions on AWS.
• Continuously improve the DevOps platform in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Build capabilities around emerging DevOps tools and technologies aligned with business needs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.
• Advise stakeholders on modern DevOps practices, tools and automation strategies.
• Define and enforce DevOps processes, standards and best practices, including DevSecOps.
• Lead technical discussions, solution design and delivery execution.
• Administer Jira and Confluence environments, customise workflows, permissions, dashboards and integrations.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to implement observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus and related tools.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.

• AWS services: Lambda, S3, EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Route53, ELB/NLB, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, Auto Scaling, CLI, CloudFormation.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, Kops).
• Monitoring & observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Fluentd.
• CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins (master/slave configuration).
• DevOps tools: GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, Kibana.
• Scripting languages: Groovy, Python, Ruby, Go.
