Data Lakehouse Architect – Data Onboarding & DataOps

About the role

This is a remote, 12‑month+ position focused on designing, implementing and governing data lakehouse solutions. You will work closely with Data Engineering, IT, Analytics and Insights teams throughout the onboarding lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review and provide feedback on project architecture, onboarding designs and technical documentation, meeting agreed SLAs.
• Guide teams on Bronze, Silver and Gold medallion patterns, lead POCs and create new ingestion patterns as needed.
• Maintain the ingestion pattern library and update reusable onboarding guidance as platform capabilities evolve.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to keep designs, standards and implementation guidelines current.

Required profile

• Deep experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Medallion Architecture.
• Proven ability to design scalable production pipelines, perform performance tuning, observability and cost optimisation.
• Experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical and semantic) for Gold data products.
