Data Engineer – AI & Analytics for Manufacturing

About the role

Teradyne is seeking a Data / AI Engineer to design and develop data, analytics, and AI solutions that support decision‑making across its Manufacturing, Test, and Operations divisions. The role blends data engineering, analytics, and applied AI to turn operational data into clear, actionable insights that improve visibility, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for manufacturing, test, and operational data.
• Establish data schemas, logging practices, and data‑quality processes to enable reliable analytics and AI applications.
• Create analytics‑ready datasets and reporting layers for operational monitoring and decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and self‑service analytics tools using SQL and BI platforms such as Power BI.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to translate requirements into sustainable data solutions.
• Build pipelines for training, evaluating, and deploying machine‑learning models.
• Apply machine‑learning techniques to use cases like anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and predictive insights.
• Define evaluation metrics, validation approaches, and monitoring strategies to ensure solution value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand complex operational challenges.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing or technology environment.

Required skills

• SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
• Power BI or similar BI platforms for dashboard creation.
• Machine‑learning concepts and techniques.
• Design and implementation of data pipelines.
