Customs Specialist – Global Services

About the role

As a Customs Specialist within Kuehne+Nagel's Global Services Freight Forwarding team, you will support the end‑to‑end customs processing of imports, exports and transit shipments. You will ensure that all customs transactions are executed accurately, on time and in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process customs‑related transactions following Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills and other documents required for customs declarations.
• Enter and validate shipment data in operational systems to support customs entry or export processes.
• Prepare and support customs filings and documentation in line with applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customs operations.
• Support import entries, export declarations, transit processes and other customs activities.
• Communicate updates, challenges and improvement ideas to the Team Leader.
• Participate in internal training and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
• Capacity to manage high transaction volumes while meeting productivity and quality KPIs.
• Experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage or logistics operations is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with internal teams and global branches.
