Customer Specialist I (Buyer Support)

About the role

The Customer Specialist I (Buyer Support) acts as the central coordination hub for supply‑chain functions, handling order backlogs and supporting internal customers across EMEA and North America. Working in an office environment, the role ensures timely communication, issue resolution, and smooth order flow within a follow‑the‑sun organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and route internal requests to the appropriate supply‑chain department.
• Track, follow up, and close inquiries, keeping internal customers informed on order status.
• Manage global cases, including those from other geographic regions, as needed.
• Review daily backlogs, resolve order problems, and identify alternative supply sources.
• Adjust order priorities based on field service input and update the system accordingly.
• Participate in weekly/monthly meetings with field service and technical support managers to report backlog status and counter‑measures.
• Communicate delivery dates to field service engineers and maintain related metrics.
• Handle supply‑chain‑related complaints in SAP CRM and prepare meetings to address blocking issues.
• Enter orders for offices not using SAP or automated systems.
• Proactively react to new information, take action, and report to partners.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, or order administration/logistics.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
• Advanced written and verbal English proficiency.
• Experience working in a matrix organization and handling multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP CRM).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows‑based tools.
