Customer Service Specialist I

About the role

The Customer Service Specialist I supports day‑to‑day interactions with external and internal customers, ensuring orders are processed accurately and issues are resolved promptly. This position works closely with logistics, sales and supply‑chain teams to maintain high levels of satisfaction and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Validate material availability and pricing in SAP.
• Enter orders in SAP to trigger product dispatch.
• Generate customer invoices using SAP invoicing functions.
• Coordinate with the supply‑chain team to meet required delivery dates.
• Contact customers to confirm certificates for chemical or dangerous‑goods shipments.
• Follow up weekly on order status to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Handle returned or defective products, process credits and coordinate logistics.
• Contribute to continuous quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Own customer issues from identification through resolution.
• Monitor daily operations of the Customer Service team and address escalations.
• Support the creation and maintenance of SOPs.
• Lead client meetings, draft formal communications and maintain a professional approach.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (any field).
• 2–3 years of customer‑service experience (preferred).
• Background in international trade or logistics is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (invoicing and inventory modules).
