Continuous Improvement Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead efforts to enhance manufacturing and production processes across Teradyne’s operations in Costa Rica. The role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, applying improvement methodologies, and delivering sustainable results that support quality, safety, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing and production workflows to uncover improvement opportunities.
• Select and apply appropriate Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and process‑mapping techniques to solve identified problems.
• Develop and maintain clear documentation for all improvement initiatives.
• Train and mentor staff on Lean philosophy and related tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure integrated, organization‑wide solutions.
• Lead and facilitate 5S, Kaizen events, and other continuous‑improvement projects.
• Track project progress, report performance metrics to senior management, and keep the Continuous Improvement Portal up to date.
• Ensure all changes comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
