Communications Specialist I

About the role

The Communications Specialist I will join Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) division in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Reporting to the internal communications team, the role supports the site‑wide communications strategy by creating and delivering a variety of internal messages, presentations and campaign materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop internal messages, product updates, PowerPoint presentations and campaigns that align with the BU branding.
• Maintain and refresh content for internal communication channels, ensuring information is current.
• Provide photography, video and media services either directly or through approved vendors, guaranteeing compliance with Abbott branding guidelines.
• Coordinate forums, town‑hall meetings, audits and site visits, including agenda preparation and material setup.
• Co‑lead or support strategic internal communication initiatives, events and activities.
• Offer communication consultation to internal departments as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in communications or a related discipline.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
