CNC Specialist – Manufacturing & Medical Devices

About the role

Freudenberg Medical is seeking a CNC Specialist to support its injection mould operations in Alajuela. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and setting up injection moulds, as well as creating and verifying CAM toolpaths for high‑precision electrode production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair injection moulds, perform adjustments and set‑ups.
• Control spare‑part inventories and manage mould storage.
• Design and build manufacturing and quality fixtures, including vises and work offsets.
• Machine graphite and pre‑hardened steel components, and high‑speed mill graphite and copper electrodes.
• Create 2D/3D CAM toolpaths, import STEP/IGES files, post and verify G‑code.
• Conduct first‑article inspections, generate reports and feed improvements back to CAM processes.
• Maintain 5S standards, tool libraries and ERP work orders.
• Support incoming mould acceptance checks and monitor production schedules to minimise downtime.
• Analyse preventive‑maintenance data and recommend frequency adjustments.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machining centres.
• Hands‑on experience machining graphite and/or copper electrodes.
• Proven ability to create and verify CAM toolpaths and work with STEP/IGES files.
• Strong understanding of inspection procedures and preventive‑maintenance practices.
