Cloud Security Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BCD Travel is looking for a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to monitor, manage and optimise security across its cloud environments using Palo Alto’s Prisma/Cortex Cloud platform. The role works remotely, collaborating with internal teams to enforce best‑practice security and remediate threats.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor cloud security dashboards for alerts, vulnerabilities and compliance risks.
• Investigate and resolve security issues with cloud stakeholders, documenting lessons learned.
• Support internal teams with portal access, deployments, alert investigations, reporting and metrics.
• Embed application security capabilities into CI/CD pipelines to shift security left.
• Generate and analyse reports on security metrics, recurring issues and key risk areas.
• Identify and implement automation for security processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in IT and information security, particularly with cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, cloud security frameworks (CIS, OWASP, NIST) and threat mitigation.

Required skills

• Palo Alto Prisma/Cortex Cloud (or similar CNAPP) expertise.
• Knowledge of XDR, CASB, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, SOC, FIM, WAF, API gateways, SAST, DAST, SCA.
• Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, bash/PowerShell scripting, Terraform, API calls and security automation.
• Familiarity with ticketing, change management, ITIL, ITSM, CMDB and documentation repositories.
• Hands‑on experience with containers, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), AWS and Azure environments.
• Exposure to tools such as Zscaler, Qualys, SentinelOne, BeyondTrust, Salt Security.
