C# & .NET Developer (Remote, Costa Rica)

About the role

UST is hiring a C# / .NET Developer (remote, Costa Rica) to support its client, working 8am to 5pm PST, Monday to Friday. The role builds reliable cloud-scale distributed systems that monitor and manage cloud hardware, assess platform health, run intelligent remediation and improve availability and performance of large-scale infrastructure. You will work across Windows- and Linux-based environments and turn live-site learnings into product improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain scalable software components and cloud services with C#.NET and object-oriented principles.
• Build client-side and server-side RESTful web services and APIs for monitoring, managing and automating cloud hardware.
• Develop components that collect telemetry, evaluate health and trigger remediation or recovery actions.
• Implement secure inter-service communication with certificate-based and token-based authentication and authorization.
• Monitor production service health, availability, latency and performance, and diagnose and fix live-site incidents.
• Analyze logs, telemetry, traces and operational data to find root causes and performance bottlenecks.
• Apply sound engineering practices for multithreading, concurrency, fault tolerance, resiliency, scalability and observability.
• Write clean, tested code, take part in design and code reviews, automated testing and release validation.
• Work with customers and partners to turn live-site issues into features, improvements or bug fixes.
• Maintain technical documentation on architecture, APIs, dependencies, procedures and deployment workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in C# and object-oriented software development.
• Experience with the .NET platform, backend services, RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Ability to debug complex software and diagnose reliability and performance issues.
