Business Data Support Analyst

About the role

World Business Lenders (WBL) provides short-term, real estate-backed commercial loans to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States. This is a fully remote position within IDEA (Intelligence, Data, Engineering & Analytics), supporting business users with reporting, analysis and data questions under the Analytics & Decision Support function. The goal is to deliver accurate reports on time, resolve routine requests independently and communicate findings and blockers clearly.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify and prioritise business data requests, and prepare and maintain recurring management reports, dashboards, KPIs and other analytical outputs.
• Perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions and support operational and management decisions.
• Investigate data questions, discrepancies and reporting issues and coordinate with the appropriate data or technology teams to resolve them.
• Review data and reporting outputs for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Help business users understand and use available data, reports and self-service analytical tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify and automate recurring reporting and analytical processes.
• Assist with testing and validation of new reports, datasets, metrics and analytical products, and support other analytical projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, information systems or a related field.
• Python or similar analytical programming experience is required; SQL experience strongly preferred.
• Preferred: experience in lending or financial services, business-user support and data reconciliation.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Preferred: reporting, visualization, analytics or business intelligence tools.
• AI-assisted analysis or coding experience is a plus.
