Asset Accountant Associate

About the role

The Asset Accountant Associate will support Bayer's finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of asset‑related accounting transactions. You will work within a dynamic shared ownership model, collaborating with internal and external partners to maintain high‑quality financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Record, verify and execute asset accounting transactions according to documented processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of specific accounting entries.
• Apply existing procedures to resolve routine accounting issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and maintain related documentation.
• Coordinate with legal entities, external customers and vendors following structured processes.
• Prepare and maintain required financial reports.
• Monitor and follow up on issues in the Asset Accounting area.
• Act as the main contact for Asset Accounting topics for the assigned legal entity, including collaboration calls.

Required profile

• Completed at least 50% of a university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (desirable).
• Minimum of 1 year professional experience in Accounting, Finance or Controlling.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Basic knowledge of finance systems, corporate and international procedures, and global accounting standards (IFRS, local GAAP).
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
