Android Developer (Remote – San Jose, Costa Rica)

About the role

We are looking for an Android Developer to join our team on a 6‑12 month fixed‑term contract. The role is remote but requires the candidate to be based in San Jose, Costa Rica. You will work at the intersection of mobile development and DevOps, driving automation, scalability and reliability for our Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android test automation frameworks using Espresso, Java and Kotlin.
• Integrate and manage CI/CD pipelines for Android apps, ensuring reliable and scalable builds.
• Optimize Android build processes for performance and stability.
• Migrate and run automated tests on cloud platforms such as AWS Device Farm.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps and development teams to improve app testability and build workflows.
• Create scripts and tools for build automation and deployment using Bash, Python or Kotlin.
• Troubleshoot issues in Android applications and build infrastructure.
• Stay updated on Android development, DevOps practices and mobile CI/CD trends.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Android development and test automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps concepts applied to mobile projects.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while coordinating with cross‑functional teams.
