Accountant – US GAAP & QBO for Hospitality Clients

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a reliable Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients operating under US GAAP. This remote, client‑facing position offers high ownership and the chance to work across hotels, restaurants and related businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for multiple hospitality clients, including general ledger management and month‑end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions and communicate results.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps and suggest improvements.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs and varying business models.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with full close‑cycle ownership.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP applied in practice.
• Experience serving US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Self‑directed, organized and comfortable working without micromanagement.
