About the role

The firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Lawyer to supervise all activities related to IP law, including trademarks, sanitary registrations, patents and copyright matters for its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with administrative staff to process client IP procedures and services.
• Monitor deadlines and key dates for trademark, sanitary registration and patent filings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in all IP registration systems.
• Review and analyse substantive IP law issues as required.
• Facilitate client IP procedures across other Central American countries.

Required profile

• Law degree with postgraduate or master’s studies, member of the Costa Rican Bar.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IP law.
• Proven experience managing trademarks, sanitary registrations and patents, with deep knowledge of copyright protection.
• Bilingual Spanish/English (language test required).
• Availability to travel semi‑annually and immediate availability preferred.
• Leadership experience managing a team of three.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Use of artificial intelligence tools for legal work.
• Experience with trademark registration software.
