Staff Backend Software Engineer

About the role

The Revenue Cycle Management team at Tebra is looking for a Staff Backend Software Engineer to modernize its billing platform. You will design and implement scalable, cloud‑native solutions while leading architectural decisions and ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and micro‑service patterns.
• Integrate and optimize cloud services across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Drive code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices for clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product, design, and cross‑functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for both backend and frontend components.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading backend development projects in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers.
