Senior POS Specialist

About the role

The Senior POS Specialist will own the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of PriceSmart’s Toshiba ELERA Point‑of‑Sale system across all operating countries. This role combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of regional business processes to ensure the POS solution meets both operational and fiscal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and support ELERA POS, guaranteeing it meets all business needs and delivers enhancements over legacy systems.
• Gather and document new business requirements, then collaborate with development teams to see them through to delivery.
• Provide expert guidance on POS configuration to ensure compliance with fiscal and operational regulations in each PriceSmart market.
• Test new system features delivered by internal teams and third‑party vendors, ensuring reliability and alignment with business expectations.
• Create and maintain high‑quality technical and functional documentation for POS processes and configurations.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining and supporting Point‑of‑Sale systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills to work across multiple internal teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell for automation and system administration.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker containers, including building, deploying, and managing containerized applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of Toshiba ELERA POS and general POS system architecture.
