Senior Information Security Engineer - Data Protection

About the role

Zscaler is looking for an Information Security Engineer to join its Enterprise Security team in a remote position in Costa Rica, reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Security Engineering. The role focuses on protecting Zscaler's corporate data through Data Protection operations, implementing and running Zscaler security tools and improving the accuracy of the alerts they produce.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and tune data loss prevention (DLP) solutions and give tuning recommendations
• Review the data protection program periodically and recommend improvements
• Work closely with business partners to find where sensitive data lives and what controls protect it
• Respond to and improve data loss prevention alert processes
• Focus on data protection solutions in a SaaS-first landscape, with an emphasis on Google Workspace

Required skills

• Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and a track record of integrating new technologies into daily work
• Experience with data loss prevention tools covering web, endpoint and email exfiltration
• Proven ability to review DLP alerts, reduce false positives and move controls to blocking state with minimal business impact
• Understanding of cloud and SaaS data stores and of deploying monitoring and controls
• Security experience, including applying compensating controls and monitoring when primary controls cannot be used
• Preferred: experience with Zscaler tools such as ZIA DLP (IDM, EDM, CASB) and DSPMA, automation/AI skills, and a proven ability to use AI to improve operational efficiency
