Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP) - Remote Colombia / Costa Rica

About the role

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the automation, instrumentation and stability of its clients' software platforms. The position is remote and open only to candidates based in Colombia or Costa Rica. Success is measured by combining critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.

Key responsibilities

• Combine sysadmin and development skills to automate IT infrastructure and operations
• Own availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning
• Optimize existing systems and eliminate work through automation, defining clear processes for each operation or business solution
• Maintain scalable and highly reliable software systems for infrastructure and operations
• Apply a software engineering mindset to systems administration
• Partner with development teams to deliver fast and efficient deployment of new platform systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of DevOps, systems administration and/or development background
• Demonstrated track record of maintaining and building large-scale distributed systems

Required skills

• 1+ years of coding in a high-level language such as Java, Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript or C
• CI/CD with build, source control and test automation (Jenkins, Git, Puppet, Chef, Maven, Ant, Docker)
• Infrastructure deployment, optimization and monitoring of cloud systems
• 2+ years of public cloud experience in AWS, GCP and/or Azure; GCP preferred
• 1+ years with Terraform and strong Linux experience including scripting
• Scripting, coding and deployment automation
• Bonus: AWS CodeDeploy, GCP Cloud Build, Azure DevOps, Mesos, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes
