Senior C++ & Impala Engineer (Remote)

About the role

As a Senior C++ & Impala Engineer you will lead the performance architecture and long‑term optimization strategy for BairesDev’s distributed query engine. You will design high‑efficiency database internals and scale analytical platforms to meet demanding enterprise workloads, all while working fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical direction for performance architecture and optimization across the organization.
• Design, build, and fine‑tune low‑latency database engines and distributed system components.
• Develop and improve database algorithms, index structures, and execution plans to maximize query performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate custom, high‑performance database solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex bottlenecks related to data storage, resource allocation, and memory management.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, backend development, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in C/C++ development and optimizing distributed system performance.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Impala or similar database engine technologies.
• Strong knowledge of DBMS algorithms, data structures, and database engine internals.
• Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and lead performance‑optimization initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
