AI Solution Architect (Azure)

About the role

3Pillar is seeking an AI Solution Architect to design and deliver enterprise‑grade AI products and intelligent agents on Azure. You will own the end‑to‑end architecture, from initial design through production, guiding engineers and collaborating across domains.

Key responsibilities

• Define AI boundaries, decide deterministic vs. model‑driven components, and establish human‑review workflows.
• Design agent, retrieval and evaluation layers using Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Search and Document Intelligence.
• Architect application layers with hexagonal design, temporal data models on Azure SQL, and reliable messaging via Azure Service Bus.
• Lead legacy modernization using strangler‑fig patterns, feature flags, and parity checks.
• Produce C4 diagrams, architecture decision records, and present technical decisions to client leadership.

Required profile

• 13+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years as a solutions architect delivering production systems.
• Hands‑on experience building Azure‑based applications in .NET (C#) or Node.js (TypeScript) with modular monoliths and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record shipping LLM‑driven applications (tool‑calling agents, retrieval‑augmented generation, prompt versioning) on Azure OpenAI or equivalent.

• Infrastructure as code (Bicep, Terraform), Azure DevOps, Application Insights, OpenTelemetry.
• Hexagonal/clean architecture, domain‑driven design, anti‑corruption layers, transactional outbox, bitemporal data, feature flags.
• Web components, TypeScript, design‑token systems, OpenID Connect, SAML.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure AI Engineer certification.
