Senior Backend Engineer, Node.js/Typescript

About the role

Deel is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale its all‑in‑one payroll and HR platform. You will work on core services that power a global workforce, ensuring reliability, performance, and security for millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to deliver seamless, customer‑centric features.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment, influencing the software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs quickly, maintaining high‑quality standards.
• Continuously improve existing systems and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases and ability to write efficient queries.
• Experience with at least one additional server‑side language is a plus.
• Track record of delivering high‑impact features in a fast‑moving SaaS environment.
