Remote Solutions Architect

About the role

This is a remote position. Scopic is a fully remote software company with 250+ professionals across 60+ countries and we're looking for a Solutions Architect! This is a developer at heart who also thinks like a business owner.

Key responsibilities

• Share ownership of technical strategy, architectural standards, and engineering priorities.
• Own the product and technical roadmap for internal products, deciding what gets built, why, and in what order.
• Design solution architectures for new client projects and internal products, from discovery through delivery.
• Join sales and pre‑sales conversations to scope projects, estimate effort, and translate client goals into technical plans.
• Review and challenge architecture decisions across teams and step in hands‑on on critical technical problems.

Required profile

• 10+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in an architect, principal engineer, or tech lead role.
• Hands‑on coding ability today; comfortable reviewing pull requests and prototyping.
• Experience in AI‑powered engineering and understanding of latest AI/agents capabilities.
• Proven experience designing distributed, cloud‑native, scalable systems.
• Product ownership experience from definition to launch and iteration based on user feedback.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js, React and Next.js.
• Strong knowledge of Python (scripting, data processing, or backend services).
• Track record of working directly with clients or executives on scope, budget, and technical trade‑offs.
• Excellent written and spoken English and availability to work in the PST timezone.
