Python Backend Developer (Remote, 12+ month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud‑native services and REST APIs. The position is fully remote, supporting a 12‑month contract with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Python.
• Develop and expose RESTful APIs following best practices.
• Deploy microservices on AWS, GCP, or Azure using containerized workloads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor production systems, diagnose issues, and improve reliability, observability, and performance.

Required profile

• Professional experience developing production‑grade backend systems in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with microservice architectures and REST API design.
• Proven ability to deploy and manage workloads on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and automated testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
