Product Accounting Senior Associate

About the role

The Product Accounting Senior Associate will support Bayer's Business Steering Services by ensuring accurate cost accounting, closing processes, and audit compliance for production orders. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify variances, manage tariffs, and provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Review order settlement results, track variances on production orders and purchase prices, and coordinate error corrections.
• Maintain and adjust tariffs and activity prices, and record start‑up and downtime costs.
• Define normal capacity, allocate fixed and variable costs, and calculate net realizable value.
• Validate product accounting closing results, provide business input, and perform manual postings when needed.
• Deliver specialized ad‑hoc and project support within your area of expertise.
• Assist internal and external audits, execute internal control (ICS) procedures, and support the overall closing process.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting, product costing, or financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of global accounting and controlling processes and their interaction with other business functions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and communicate effectively in English.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP FI/CO module and knowledge of its interfaces.
