Process Engineer

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a Process Engineer to provide engineering services that support production in its manufacturing business units. You will drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, set up new manufacturing processes and equipment for facility start‑up, and ensure high‑quality standards for orthopedic implant production.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, Kanban and OEE to improve productivity, quality and cost.
• Plan and execute engineering projects, managing timelines, budgets, resources, validation activities and stakeholder communication.
• Manage engineering changes through formal change‑control systems while assessing product quality, regulatory and business impacts.
• Design, develop, validate, optimise and sustain manufacturing processes for orthopedic implants, including bill of materials and routing maintenance.
• Lead IQ, QQ, PQ, equipment qualification, cleaning validation and re‑validation activities in line with regulatory expectations.
• Conduct investigations using 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, Pareto, DMAIC and CAPA methodologies.
• Perform capability analysis, trend analysis and statistical troubleshooting of process issues.
• Complete risk and safety assessments for new equipment installations and respond to safety incidents.
• Identify and deliver cost‑reduction initiatives through consumable reduction, yield improvement and productivity gains.

Required profile

• Strong project‑management skills with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Experience applying continuous‑improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM, 5S, SMED, Kanban, OEE).
• Knowledge of engineering change control, validation protocols (IQ, QQ, PQ) and regulatory expectations for medical devices.
• Ability to lead root‑cause investigations using structured problem‑solving methods.
• Proficiency in risk assessment, safety analysis and cost‑reduction initiatives.
