Técnico de Manufactura Láser

About the role

AVNA, a contract manufacturer serving leading medical device makers, is looking for a Laser Manufacturing Technician to join its Costa Rica facility. The role focuses on configuring, maintaining, and providing technical support for laser cutting, welding and marking equipment to ensure continuous production and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and adjust parameters for laser cutting, welding and marking processes using validated parameter sheets.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on laser equipment, including replacement of consumables and spare parts.
• Assemble, clean, align and inspect fixtures, machines and tools, identifying wear or anomalies.
• Provide basic troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Monitor inventory and consumption of critical spare parts and tools, maintaining up‑to‑date records and 5S standards.
• Prioritize technical activities according to shift objectives and equipment availability targets.
• Train new and existing operators on proper equipment use, tools and processes.
• Follow all safety protocols, internal policies, controlled documents and LOTO procedures.

Required profile

• Willingness to work the second shift (2 p.m. – 10 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturdays).
• Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Required skills

• Laser cutting equipment operation.
• Laser welding and marking equipment operation.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of laser machinery.
• Equipment calibration and parameter adjustment.
• Fixture assembly, cleaning, alignment and inspection.
• Inventory management of spare parts and tools.
• Knowledge of 5S workplace organization.
