Process Engineer - CMM Programmer

About the role

The Process Engineer – CMM Programmer will oversee calibration and preventive‑maintenance programs for Continuous Measurement Machines (CMMs) used in the production of orthopedic implants. Working within a cGMP‑compliant environment, you will ensure measurement systems remain accurate, reliable and aligned with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage calibration, preventive‑maintenance (PM) and repair schedules for CMMs, coordinating with system owners and third‑party service providers to minimise downtime.
• Evaluate CMM measurement programs against Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and generate out‑of‑tolerance (OOT) reports.
• Assist in investigations of OOTs, NCRs, CAPAs and issue evaluations as required by the area manager.
• Program CMMs using the PCDMIS application to support manufacturing operations.
• Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair CMM equipment following ASME B89.4.1 standards, including X, Y and Z axis linearity.
• Collaborate with solution providers to apply best‑practice metrology techniques and improve measurement efficiency and quality.
• Provide analytical support for equipment selection, validation, statistical trend analysis and process capability studies.
• Perform TMVs, Gage R&R studies and contribute to process validations.
• Troubleshoot operational issues independently and lead cross‑functional problem‑solving efforts.

Required profile

• Experience working with CMMs and metrology equipment in a manufacturing or medical‑device environment.
• Familiarity with cGMP requirements and ASME B89.4.1 calibration standards.
• Ability to interpret GD&T specifications and generate calibration deviation reports.
• Strong analytical mindset with capability to perform statistical analysis and root‑cause investigations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
