Patient Recruiter & Retention Specialist - Clinical Research

About the role

Equity Medical is seeking a bilingual Patient Recruiter & Retention Specialist to support participant recruitment and engagement for U.S.-based clinical research studies. The role suits someone with hands-on clinical research experience who enjoys connecting with people, conducting preliminary eligibility screening and helping participants stay engaged. It is a remote, independent contractor position open to candidates in Latin America, subject to country eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Contact prospective participants interested in studies through digital recruitment campaigns.
• Conduct preliminary eligibility screening using approved questions and guidance; final eligibility decisions remain with the study team.
• Follow up on prospects, answer questions within approved materials and coordinate appointments.
• Support retention with appointment reminders and ongoing follow-up.
• Document communications, screening outcomes, appointments and follow-up in the CRM and designated systems.
• Coordinate with clinical sites, marketing and recruitment contacts on referrals and enrollment needs.
• Take part in agreed coordination meetings on recruitment progress.
• Support approved outreach activities and protect participant privacy and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.
• At least one year of clinical research experience in patient recruitment, prescreening, enrollment or participant retention.
• Strong telephone communication skills and a respectful, participant-focused approach.
• Experience managing outbound calls, follow-up and appointment coordination.
• Reliable internet, suitable equipment and a private workspace.

Preferred: experience with U.S. clinical research sites, familiarity with CRM and electronic clinical research systems, current Good Clinical Practice training, and experience with diverse participant populations. Service coverage is Thursday through Tuesday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM U.S. Pacific Time, with details in the agreement.
